Metroidvania announced

Posted by ShadowWhoWalks - October 8th, 2016

So I took an old project, reduced the difficulty, and made the player character a demigod that is not restricted by anything, and here is the result.

If you guys enjoy platformers, especially those with megaman or metroidvania elements, do give it a spin. You can climb walls and stuff.

This is really cool! I'd love to work on a game like this in the future!

Me too, too bad about adobe Flash...

You did a great job with this!

Thanks Tom. This place has always been my favorite den since 2000. Thanks for continuously running the site.

this was a really fun game, but do you still have the "hard" version somewhere?
I'd play the hell out of that

There is a Ragnarok Unalign on my profile, it uses the same engine and maps, but the difference is you play as up to 6 different classes as opposed to just one.

However you will not be as agile as Wickebine, and you need to learn to switch teammates on the fly in order to deal with challenges.

I've been enjoying this game a lot. I was just wondering, though, will you come up with a walkthrough? I am stuck with the old man's request

Did you make the UI yourself? It looks like an open-source library.

It's all right, for what it is, but you should add some more clarity in the game's description: You can't do even half of what Dante can in DMC, a.k.a. causing enemies to go into various states from various moves. The SotN SFX are a nice touch, and the animation and move variety are both pretty damn good, boasting more moves with the default weapon than any other one in SotN (Not a fan of the player character being an anime cat girl, though).

It's pretty clear you wear your Metroidvania/SotN influence with pride, as you should, but I think you can do better combat-wise. This isn't about the difficulty per se (Although a greater challenge would be nice), but just about getting the enemies into more states than Stunned and Dead.

Overall, you have a good base so far, and it'd be nice to see what more you can do with it.

I'm sorry you feel that way.Best of luck on your next.

Hey, I have just finished the game, and it was fun.

No, i made it sound so dull, but matter of fact the game was AWESOME!

loved the items, skills, loved the fact that it was challenging(maybe the stormy knight was too harsh), engaging, loved the feeling of getting skillful and stronger, the humor and gameplay.

I was looking forward to get in touch with a mindblowing game as the madness interactive, and this game got as close to it. No BS, it was that fun.

Thanks for making it.

Thanks for enjoying it. I'll keep note with what worked and what didn't.

Next what? I'm not making your game.

Don't worry you won't be helping with anything, just saying good luck on the next submission you choose to play.

How unfortunate.

Oh well, not my game that I'm choosing not to improve on.

Hello guy,

I played this game in this weekend and I loved it. In my opinion you got the best references of Ragnarok and with nice game design inspired by Megaman and Castlevania. In fact, I have not enjoyed so with a game a long time ago.

Thank you.

Glad you loved it, bud. I hope it brings at least some parts of the megaman/castlevania back.

Really great game, a lot of fun to play. Only wish there was more!

Great game! I loved playing it
